Thank you, Frederik van Gelder, for your sober comments on the
"Kulturindustrie" and the "Mass culture" debate.

And still more thanks for posting the table of contents from the
manuscript of *Studies in Antisemitism*.  Looks most interesting. You
have my sincere gratitude.


To respond to some other posts:

Ralph, I have been unable to reply to your many posts because of travels
which took me away from my computer. I will, as soon as I can, offer
some comments.

Lloyd, thanks for drawing attention to Shoshana Felman's article on
Benjamin. Sometime ago I read a very fine piece of hers on Henry James's
wonderful ghost story _The Turn of the Screw_. It appears in a volume
she edited entitled _Literature and Psychoanalysis: The Question of
Reading Otherwise_.  Among those critics who owe a real debt to the de
Manian/Derridian "method" of reading and textual analysis, she's surely
one of the best and most interesting.
