Re: repressive desublimation

Desiblimation is when you cease to channel your energies in a way which is
acceptible to civilised society and let the instinctive response get
expressed directly. Repressive desiblimation is when you do this in a way
which is ideologically conditioned. The easiest example is sexual
de-repression but in a way which is commercialised, e.g., _Playboy_ rather
than genuine, spontaneous lovemaking. All sorts of other examples apply
e.g., cruel sport, porno rather than art, fetishised clothes.
