[Fred, Would you mind circulating this request? Many thanks. Nick
Gomersall]
We are a small department (three full time economists) that plans to
expand our first year offerings to two semesters. My colleagues resist
a micro/macro split, I suspect for ideological reasons; they have been
using Heyne since the first edition.
My question, then, is whether other schools have experience offering
two semesters of first-year economics on any other basis than
micro/macro. I've been playing with some such split as (i) Consumption,
Exchange and Prices, and (ii) Production, Capital and Value but, since
there is no flesh on these bones, would welcome any suggestions or
examples.
Please reply to Nick Gomersall at Luther College, gomersni@xxxxxxxxxxx
Many thanks.
