Comparative Systems Course

Dear Colleagues:

Next year I'm going to be teaching Comparative Systems for the first
time
since the fall of the Soviet Union. I'm looking for a good basic
textbook
to use as well as some creative, non-traditional extensions of the
material. Ideally, I'd like a book that explores the intersection of
culture and economics, and materials that can be used to explore
alternative methods of economic organization (cooperatives,
codetermination, etc.). Anyone have any ideas? Or recent experiences
teaching this course?

I'd also like to compile some syllabi and resources on this topic for
the
AFIT and AFEE web pages.

Thanks in advance for your help.
