From: John T. Apparently, by this time last year I had already made our annual call for booth volunteers. I had not realized that, but others had and I’ve been receiving requests to take a turn already! Many thanks! This year we will be in booth 431 (a prime location on a corner!) of the San Diego Marriott and Marina Hotel exhibition hall. The booth will be open during the following hours (as you can see the days are not the traditional Friday, Saturday, Sunday): Saturday, January 3 (9:00 am - 6:00 pm) Sunday, January 4 (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) Monday, January 5 (9:00 - 1:00 pm) We need two folks for each time slot listed below. If you are interested then please choose one (or more!) and respond to me. All ICAPE affiliates are encouraged to display materials at this booth (informational pamphlets, calls for papers, sample journals, and so on). I hope that your group will take advantage of this unique opportunity. If your group would like to participate, please bring your materials to the booth at any time during the above-listed hours. Space will be limited (and allotted on the basis of how many folks bring materials–an equal share for each group), so something in the range of 100-200 pamphlets or 5-10 sample journals would be best. Also, if you have something to sell then I ask that your group be in charge of keeping track of the till–I don’t think we should ask our volunteers to do that (URPE, for example, has kept their own accounts in this manner every year and I am very grateful). Finally, we may have to do something this year about individual group banners as last year folks passing by assumed it was a booth run by such-and-such association rather than ICAPE. I think we can sort this out when we get there, however. Please be sure to retrieve extra copies of your materials by closing time on January 5. Anything not collected will be destroyed. Many thanks in advance for your help and cooperation. Hope to see you in San Diego! John
