Re: etymology of endogeneous money



I recommend the article:

"On Passive Money" by Julio H. G. Olivera appeared on "The Journal of
Political Economy" (Jul-Aug 1970). In my very limited knowlege, the
Argentine economist Olivera was known for applying the idea of endogenous
money in several pieces that appeared earlier in spanish. In any case, more
than an issue of discovery (irrelevant for me), I think is interesting to
know his argument as it became an important part of the theoretical
underpinings of the latin american critique of neoclassical and monetarist
doctrines. Structuralism is a way of thinking that deserves a more relevant
place in the history of economic thought. Other important sources for
structuralism are Keynes, Minsky, Chenery, among others.
