US Gold Stock for Gold Bugs
The Federal Reserve reports that its gold reserves (the total US gold
stock), valued at $42.22 per ounce, has remained within .05% of its
average value of $11 billion during the period 1995 to the present.
Data for earlier periods were not available from its website.
During that same period, the Federal Reserve held reserves of foreign
currencies in amounts varying between $30 billion and $50 billion (at
current market exchange rates).
