I just want to add one point that got lost when I edited the message before
sending it on to pkt*. I gave one example:
I think that progressive academics in the field of economics are too
passive in formulating and putting forward alternative economic policy
proposals.
.....
But there are exceptions to
this rule: people formulating specific policy proposals, f.inst. Paul
Davidson with his IMCU concept to stabilise the world monetary system.
Another positive example is the "employer of last resort"/job guarantee
proposal, that has been argued for by Randy Wray, Bill Mitchell and Warren
Mosler.
IMO, this should also be part of an economics reform package that
progressive economists ought to be able to agree on.
