Re: Moynihan



Here is my comment of yesterday's date to Henry's message.

Henry:

I took Galbraith's course on Development Economics at Harvard during
1963-64, followed by a seminar course on related issues in 1964-65.

And, while there was constant snickering in the corridors about him being a
"journalist" with, of all things (snicker, snicker), a degree in
"agricultural economics", he left a greater impression on me than did any of
the "real" economists on the Harvard faculty.

As for Moynihan, whom I never met, he has been a regular presence in my
life, as it were - on untold occasions, people have asked me "Are you
Senator Moynihan?"

On a few occasions, I have said "Yes" - and exchanged views on political
issues of the day with "my" admirers!
