But Gunnar, Hilbert was followed by Kurt Goedel.  Have you not heard of Kurt Goedel?

As to Occam's Razor, it is a method.  You go with the simplest explanation that fits the facts.  It doesn't prove that the simplest explanation is correct.  It might well be false.  So you continually try to falsify.
