No, no. It was Veblen. The key phrase being "economic experiment".
Besides, I'm familiar with the Keynes' quote:
"The ideas of economists and political philosophers both when they are
right and when they are wrong, are more powerful than is commonly

believe themselves to be quite exempt from any intellectual influences, are
usually slaves of some defunct economist. Madmen in authority, who hear
voices in the air, are distilling their frenzy from some academic scribbler
of a few years back."
Still rings true today, don't you agree?
By the way, does anyone know Galbraith? I wonder what his thoughts are about
what is happening now.
