An Economic Question
Since my academic training and experience is in Psychology and not
Economics, I use the PKT list almost exclusively as a "Read Only" list.
I find the majority of the posts extremely interesting and informative
and most certainly support the principle of discussion of various
viewpoints.
On the assumption that some have made that the U. S. is really only
interested in oil insofar as Iraq is concerned, I would appreciate any
and all feedback on the question I pose in the next paragraph.
The question: Would it not be more advantageous and less costly both
monetarily and in terms of human life if the U. S. were to bail out
Venezuela and provide whatever economic assistance is necessary to
stabilize Venezuela in exchange for an increased amount of Venezuelan
oil?
Again, I would emphasize that I am NOT a trained economist so any
replies would be of interest and certainly not disputed by me.
Reluctantly I feel that I must add this one paragraph. If you choose to
post an answer John Gelles, would you PLEASE do so in standard print on
a standard background. Logic for discussion group purposes does NOT IMHO
need a wide variety of colored type since logic as one sees it stands or
is discussed on its merits and not its gimmicks.
