Re: Ltr fr B. Solow: Simulations today not yesterday
Speaking of squeezing replicable predicters out of
historical economic data, Time Magazine currently
reports a Japanes super computer doing 75 trillion
calculations per second -- many times more that its
American competitors.
The Japanese monster number cruncher is simulating
the whoe world's weather, prepatory to simulating
soon the whole world's economy too.
"Damn the non-ergodic dichotomy, full speed ahead
to a daily update of the future century" -- reads a sign
on the door as you enter the house where the monster
presides.
Why would anyone have to contest the neo-liberal
economic agenda with strained analogy to thermo-
dynamics, when poverty exists in rich nations whose
leadership deserves for not ending it a well aimed
kick in the ass.
