The Department of Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences invites
applications for three tenure track openings at the rank of assistant
professor beginning Fall 2003. The department seeks applicants with an
active research agenda and the ability to develop a strong publication
record. An interest in economic policy - especially in developing
countries - is desirable. Qualified candidates will have evidence of
strong teaching skills; those with experience or interest in teaching
large sections of introductory classes are especially encouraged to
apply. Candidates should expect to have the Ph.D. by August 2003.
Responsibilities will include teaching general education, undergraduate,
and graduate (masters and doctoral) courses, advising students including
mentoring women and minority graduate students, conducting and
publishing research, and participating in department, college, and
university service activities. Applicants should send curriculum vita,
dissertation abstract, and letters from three references. Consideration
of applications will continue until the position is filled. American

YORK UNIVERSITY, FACULTY OF ARTS
DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
Applications are invited for a tenure track appointment at the Assistant
Professor level in Comparative Political Economy. Candidates are
expected to demonstrate the promise of excellence in both scholarship
and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Excellence in
teaching should include an ability to respond pedagogically to York 's
diverse student body. The successful candidate will have a completed
Ph.D.

their scholarship and teaching evaluations, and arrange to have three
