Re: Stiglitz on Soros
This is just great. Should I take it as a naive statement made by one of the
prominent economists of 20th century or is it just expression of how one can
be so naive when it comes to issue of or choice between just and US
interest. I don't know what makes you say that prof Davidson, but you are
expected to know that whole history of Palestine-Israel conflict can not be
reduced to Clinton peace proposal against which Palestine authorities
rightly stood up since the only aim of the proposal was to put Palestine
people into some reservations as US did to Native Americans. I don't even
want to come to issues of occupations, settlements etc. If you don't mind, I
highly recommend you, prof. Davidson, to visit z-mag web site
(www.zmag.org). Chomsky may have something to say regarding this issue.

You are VERY WRONG! I meant the Palestine Authority who has apparently
financed terrorist - including suicide bombers--operations.
If the Palestine Authority (i.e., Arafat) had accepted Clinton's peace
proposal, then there would be no suicide bombers, the border between the
Israel-Gaza strip would be open Arabs to work in Israel and earn a
reasonable wage -- Instead they are unemployed or earning much less if
they have a job in GAZA, now that that border had to be closed in trying to
stop the bombers. And as economists we should support policies that create
jobs for Arabs in Gaza -- and since the Arabs freely took the jobs in
IsrAEL BEFORE THE BORDER CLOSED -- IT SHOULD BE CLEAR THAT THEY PREFERRED
THE INCOME THEY COULD EARN IN ISRAEL TO WHAT THEY COULD EARN IN THE GAZA
STRIP.
