Re: Grad. Prog. advt for URPE Newsletter
This is a very good idea. This would be helpful to all, especially to
those who from the developing countries, mired by monolithic texts, would
likely to pursue non-mainsteam perspectives.
Thanks again

the URPE Newsletter to have a quick summary of the various MA/PhD programs
that have some kind of emphasis on radical political economy/heterodox
economics. This would inform all of us where interesting programs are and
thus be able to direct students to them. Thus we propose to have a page
or so in the Fall Newsletter where each program can briefly describe
themselves and provide contact numbers and Web Site information. My
description of the graduate program at UMKC can perhaps be used as a
template. Please send your program descriptions directly to Paddy Quick.
Her e-mail address is paddyquick@xxxxxxxx It would be nice if Paddy
received your descriptions by the beginning of September.

emphasize an interdisciplinary, heterodox approach to economics. Thus
side by side with standard economic theory and an empirical orientation,
the Department offers core theory courses as well as elective courses in
Institutional, Post Keynesian, and other heterodox economics. The
Department also offers a specialized social science field that covers
philosophy, methods, and theories in the social sciences. Finally, the
Department is the home of the Center for Full Employment and Price
Stability. For application information contact Professor Jim Sturgeon at

information can be found at our Web Site: http://iml.umkc.edu/econ.
