Re: Winner Take [All] Oscar... LeNOB!
A good friend thought public disclosure of the vote
would be better than awarding an oscar to every
nominee. I said "Whoa. I'm home with my green
enamel oscar over the fireplace. Green being last
in the count--with a hint I'm still green and need
time to ripen."
My best friend calls to say, "I just saw the count,
you got less than 1%. You may think you got an
oscar--but I know you never deserved to be
nominated."
The truth is, we need oscars enough to go 'round,
money enough to go 'round, and everyone chanting
in unison President Bush's mantra: "LeNOB! LeNOB!
leave no one behind!"

Subject: Winner Take Oscar Others Take Not
Would our culture be better to people
in need if when they hand out Oscars
there were enough to go 'round: Gold,
silver, bronze, enamel blue, black, gray
and green?
Winner-take-all may be a bad habit.
