National Security, Money and Debt
This weekend on CSPAN the Senate Armed Forces
Committee took testimony from the top four military
officers in the US Government. They explained what
they had planned to protect America within the para-
meters of a budget they accepted as all that taxpayers
can be asked to pay..
With such a sick and crazy view of what America can
afford, there was no real money to bring true economic
security to our people (whose insecure lives the military
defend often at the cost of their own) or to the Russian
people or the Chinese, people on whom we are counting
to be civilized, rational and secure enough to avoid nuclear
or devasting war.
These were four, four-star types, the top military minds
in America, whose brains had been washed clean of how
we financed and won World War II.
The obious villain is Congress and the economics
profession. The Congress not only controls the purse
strings (which they open only at the last minute to avoid
total defeat in a great war), but deliberate perpetuate
the myth that we cannot afford all we can produce.
They perpetuate the myth to protect their position as
men of super-importance in a democracy that has been
lulled to sleep.
The time and place to get across to the American
people that we can afford to win the wars against
poverty, unemployment, global warming and
terrorism, all at once, but that, although we have
the experience of WWII's fiat money proving this,
we also have the implications of Hiroshima, Nagasaki
and terrorist deeds, to prove we cannot afford to
recover from a nuclear holocaust.
Everything we are doing today at the federal level
to bring common sense to bear on threats to every-
one, to convince the American people "we will leave
no one behind", cries out for this PKT forum to unite
-- and to tell the people how we can afford victory
over terror and want, and also afford to assist, (with
the things that money can buy,) Russia, China and
India to be all that they can be!
Benjamin Franklin advised us once, we shall all hang
together or we shall all hang separately.
Is is not time for us to advise that we shall all spend
and save together to end economics crippled by debt
and taxes or we shall burn together wondering why
we needed money when we had everything money
can buy in our grasp.
