What are these, choped liver? ;-)

Considering the fact that the term wasn't used
before 'my fellow Seattleites' locked a bunch of greedy megalomaniacs in their
hotels, I consider all the media outlets who've felt the desparate need
to create yet another bogus binarism in their quest to stay slightly more
philosophical than Mad Magazine even less than I consider chopped liver.
The as yet unrequited injustices and
unfreedoms of neoliberalism may either be the slow death of our species
--and countless others-- or a challenge to all of us to create and organize
around new modes of cognizing the relationships between human beings and the
rest of this planet that put dignity and democracy before power and
the predatory, pecuniary ethos of the last millenium.

From the standpoint of a higher economic form of society, private
ownership of the globe by single individuals will appear quite as absurd as
private ownership of one man by another. Even a whole society, a nation, or
even all simultaneously existing societies taken together, are not the owners
of the globe. They are only its possessors, its usufructuaries, and, like
boni patres familias, they must hand it down to succeeding
generations in an improved condition.
Ecology anyone?
