Re: [gang8] Chartalism and Hyperinflation
And what message is that? Surely you must have
skimmed through Henry's post superficially, not
actually read it. Certainly you do not agree with
this:
"Market forces can operate only if the political
authority chooses to allow them to operate, and only
to the extent envisioned by the political
authority."
I've read every one of Henry's posts since be first
began posting to PKT. Somewhere along his attitude
changed completely: he began kowtowing to the line of
the Chinese communist regime. Perhaps he saw himself
becoming an important adviser. "Chartalism" fit
perfectly in with it. Before his attitude was quite
liberal, even at times libertarian.
I tell you, Moslerian "Chartalism" is dangerous to
this extent: it can become a "Western" or "market"
justification for continuing or even extending
authoritarian policies. It becomes "acceptable"
justification for the policies they are already
following.
Henry does indeed have some influence. He invests
funds from various "front" corporations of the Chinese
government in the United States and elsewhere. He
does have important connections. People do listen to
him.
