Expectation is pervasive in human calculation, not just in economics.
Yet expectation is not fantasy, at least not always. Expectation can be
based on rational deduction or irrational phobia or faxation, all
tracable to past experience. On every dollar note is printed "In God We
Trust". Is that a hedge against the expectation that the FRB may fail?
