Re: The nature of the new war

WAR on war by fascism-Islamic style

In little more than half a century fascism, - Japanese,
Italian, and German style, has been defeated. Other
national flavors have died under pressure from within
and without their borders. The war against fascism
continues. And as weapons become more potent and
available (long before fascist powers achieve size and
notoriety), their defeat remains as urgent as ever-- more
    so if that is possible.

Fascism may be defined as the invocation of cultural
myth by evil leaders in pursuit of personal power and
wealth and absolute civil obedience. These they pursue
by terror and murder at home and daring to make war
    abroad.

(Red fascism is the same, substituting, only, for the
invocation of cultural myth, invocation of Marxist visions
    drenched with envy and hate.)

We are at war with fascism-Islamic style: Victory will be
ours or theirs -- and the outcome will effect all our lives.

Pacifism triumphant, outside this fascist realm, will mean
victory for medieval barbarism. Only military heroes on
our side stand between it and all human rights.

It is the common sense duty of we who love human liberty
to understand the enemy and stop him while we can. We
must stand united with our leaders until that enemy is dead.

What of the denial of full human rights in nations outside
the fascist realm-- including in our own and our allies?
Do we go on strike-- until no serious denial of human rights
at home remains-- even as we fight total evil abroad?

No. We don't go on strike. We continue the long
struggle for full human rights, (economic and political),
as integral to our war aims. And we do not diminish
by one iota our commitment to defeating fascism
        once again.

What of the view that we face a clash of empires? That
Islam must be contained? That benign beliefs and freedom
of speech and religion must spread in this ancient realm if
    peace is to remain possible?

We answer this line of speculation with the thought
that when fascism-Islamic style is destroyed, we may
find a the clash of empires is just not going to happen.

Ancient Islamic scholarship and tolerance are renown.

There is reason for optimism that modern and traditional
Islam can coexist with Hindu, Christian, Jewish and other
faiths, within nations and families, inside and proximate to
    Islamic nations, places and populations.
