Re: books for Labor Economics

You might consider using David Card and Alan Krueger's "Myth and Measurement" as a case study.  This is a compilation of Card & Krueger's articles on the minimum wage, notably those showing a negligible disemployment effect of increases in the minimum wage.  It is inexpensive in paperback.  I learned more about labor economics and econometrics from Card & Krueger than I did from either my labor economics class or my econometrics class, both taught by the same conservative professor.  If you want to show both sides of the debate, there's also a short paperback on the same topic published by Cato or Heritage or somesuch.

Subject: books for Labor Economics

Hi,
This coming winter I'm teaching a course in Labor Economics for the first time.  I would appreciate any suggestions that folks have about books that you have used in such a course, or books that you would consider using if you taught Labor.
Thanks,
Nancy
