Re: War on US Soil
Henry:
You paint an extremely bleak but regrettably very true picture but,
IMHO, you stop short of giving a complete scenario.
As far as military forces actually fighting with the U. S. and Britain,
I fully expect most other countries as well as the U. N.will hold
debates, appoint committees to study the situation, etc., etc.
Nationalism is alive and well.
But when the U. S. economy becomes excessively strained it will have the
effect of dragging the entire world econmy into a worldwide depression.
That will IMO pose the necessary serious threat to nationalism that will
galvanize nations into concrete action if for no other reason than to
protect their own interests.
Virtually every country and every religion has condemned fanatical
terrorim. Action against fanatical terrorism, whether it's called war or
any other name, is NOT against any nation or religion.
Although the future is bleak in so many ways, I can't see where the U.
S. would ever have to negotiate and sue for peace. One negotiates and
sues for peace with a country or countries...not with fanatical
terrorist groups who have no country and are scattered all over the
world.
Henry
