Ever tried speaking out about the "war on some drugs" where you work
or in Congress or the media? It's worse than trying to be a
spokesperson for atheism in the US. Please don't tell me you're in a
"blame the victim" mode when it comes to those who struggle against
the infantile notions of liberty that circulate in US culture. People
make big $$$ when others are forced to piss in a cup as a condition of
access to the means of production, or do you think there is no
connection between $$ and who gets to decide the meanings of liberty?
As for technologies of surveillance in the workplace as a
manifestation of a few of the lunacies of actually existing capitalism
might I suggest Samuel Bowles "The production process in a competitive
economy: Walrasian, neo-Hobbesian, and Marxian models" American
Economic Review 75 (1985)?
