Re: the share held by banks



This message, for some reason, never got through. So I am attempting to
repost it, if it is still relevant.

How many Japanese built cars have "interference" engines? Mazda, don't think
so. Honda, yes. Toyota, do you know? ditto Suburu, Nissan? So I assume you
are joking. This is somewhat reminiscent of the  warnings given circa 1973
about the junkie Hondas and TOYotas that were about to land.  They did, and
we soon found out what GM meant by quality control: that it intended to
control quality (downward). Honda, etc, just used good ole Yankee know-how
to produce a superior car long after GM behaved as if it were impossible to
do. So why the allusion to scrapped Japanese cars? There are probably more
1973 Toyotas extant than 1983 GM's, although my evidence is probably as
strong as is yours. But you were joking, right?
