You suggest that ``many astute economists insist that
high interest rate causes inflation, at least in the
long run.'' That is simply false. I pointed that out,
and you cited Randy. I therefore pointed out that the
quote you offer from Randy does not assert the
causality that you suggest. Which is fortunate, since astute
economists will not make such a causal claim, and I'd hate
to see Randy embarass himself.

I also offered you a simple thought experiment that
was intended to make the point that it is obvious
that no astute economist will make the claim that
you attribute to ``many''. You have not discussed
this.

Please show me where I miscited you.
If I did, I apologize, but I do not see that I did.

Please mention a position that I have changed
rather than make such an unsupported claim.
I'd be happy to discuss it with you if you
provide an example. If you cannot, well . . .
you're sounding more than a bit defensive.

I hope you did not think that I was implying that your
false claim was intentionally false.
It is just an assertion that is false.
I certainly apologize if that was not clear.
But the claim appears clearly false, not just inaccurate.
Who on earth did you have in mind when you made it?

Actually you should be able to list ``many'',
I assume, since that's the number you claimed.
So far, on my reading, you have not been
able to list one. So far you have nothing
to challenge but your mischaracterization.

Cheers,
Alan
