Any PK involved with Nader?
I had the opportunity to see Ralph Nader speak to a gathering of about a
hundred people Sunday night. I took the opportunity to ask:
"Current economic policy is to control inflation by increasing
unemployment. Since murder and suicide rates follow unemployment closely,
this is morally equivalent to mass murder. What alternative methods do you
suggest?"
He talked about anti-monopoly and fostering true competition in order to
keep prices down, but seemed shaky on the macro side. He did mention
making the Fed responsive to democratic forces instead of to the "creditor
class."
Later in response to another question he talked about a Tobin tax, although
he didn't use that term.
I think Nader would be quite receptive to PK ideas. Is there anyone here
who is involved with him, or knows of a PK who is?
