No. I use poor and rich to mean different *financial* conditions.
I am not speaking of the economic condition of poverty.
No one should be expected to live in poverty but if no one
was *ever* satisfied with their *financial* condition the engine
would seize up in frenzy of competition for money.
Many of those living in poverty do not want to be rich or
even middleclass. They simply want the means to enjoy NOW not the FUTURE.
The true poor (not those who wish to be rich) understand the *value*
of NOW. (The value of now is the motor oil)
The poorest of the poor have no *financial* expectations
about the future. They only see *money* as something to spend
rather than something to expect. However, EVERYONE feels
poor from time to time but those with lots of money don't ever
have to worry about feeling poor and be true to themselves.
They aren't racked by guilt like those who have to suffer
the ignominy of "welfare" and "wage" labour. It is high time
to replace welfare with a universal basic income for all...so
we can all be poor equally and not be ashamed of it.
