RE: [Fwd: Annoying Hideous !@#$&! Microsoft Talking Paperclip.]

I have found that changing the name of the actor file seems
to be the most efficient way of getting back to the old style of MS-Office
help.

I don't hate Microsoft products. I find that Excel is
generally easier to use than Lotus 123 or Quattro Pro and it offers more
useful tools. Also, Excel seems to be in tune with my way of doing things.
Perhaps this benefit is really the result of my becoming too used to MS's
way of doing things.

Regardless, I don't think it is outrageous that Microsoft
would try to get people to use something like Clippy. I think it is
outrageous that Microsoft makes it so difficult to get rid of it. Doesn't
it seem that the Help options should have one simple entry to allow one to
turn the thing off?

I wouldn't mind the cartoon character if it could actually
recognize the questions you ask it and give proper responses. Somehow I
think AI has advanced a bit more than the language recognition capacity of
Clippy and friends.

As a result of this discussion I found out
that the clip is only one of
about six possible "characters" one can have
as the "helper". I
found them by clicking on the help icon and
then clicking on
				Options and then Gallery.
