Corridor Stability
I study nonlinear dynamical systems and Keyesian macroeconomics.
My paper, “Harrod’s “knife-edge” reconsidered: An application of the
Hopf
bifurcation theorem and numerical simulations” will be published in
Journal
of Macroeconomics, Summer, 1999.
In writing this paper and still now, I have an open question; Who is the
first
to introduce a concept of corridor stability? Leijonhufvud, Harrod, or
someone
else? In Leijonhufvud’s paper, “Effective demand failures,” Swedish
Journal of
Economics, 1973, pp.32-33, he clearly described his ‘cosmology’ using
the word,
corridor. Harrod also stated such a concept in his book, Economic
Dynamics, 1973,
p.33 without the above keyword. Could you tell me the detail of a
matter?
Thanks in advance.
