the politics of Keynesianism
Does anyone on this list have suggestions for readings that discuss the
political dimension of Keynesianism as practiced in the US and other
advanced capitalist countries during the period 1940-70? I'm interested
in the role that conventional (bastard) Keynesianism played in the
formation of center-left coalitions involving portions of the capitalist
class, and the political impact that the rejection of Keynesianism had
during the 1970s and after. Of course, I would be happy to hear of
trenchant critiques of this type of analysis as well.
The readings are for my education and also for my students'. For them I
would especially like pieces that don't presume too much economic
sophistication.
Thanks.
