New full employment papers available on web
Congratulations to Bill Mitchell for a fantastic conference, "The Path to
Full Employment and Equity" at the University of Newcastle last week. The
conference also served to inaugurate his new "Centre of Full Employment and
Equity research" (Coffee).
Some of the key issues discussed at the conference were the implications of a
BSE/ELR type policy for exchange rates, terms of trade, and balance of
payments, particularly in a small open economy. Two papers from the
conference dealing with these issues are now available on the web at:
www.warrenmosler.com
The papers are:
"The Buffer Stock Employment Model in a Small Open Economy" by William F.
Mitchell
and
"Exchange Rate Policy and Full Employment" by Warren Mosler
More papers from the conference will be available on the same web site soon.
Bill is also arranging for the publication of a conference volume.
Anyone interested in the conference or related issues can contact me.
