Forstater is NOT advocating saving in place of taxes
Dear Mat,
You write: "John, I don't understand who you think is
advocating high taxes. Is that what you are saying we
are doing?"
Yes Mat, -- not very high, as in the depression and
post war years when marginal income tax rates
exceeded 70 % -- in some places 90%. But high
taxes in the minds of our political opponents.
And most of all, you refuse to comment on the heart
of my critique -- what about saving in place of most
of our taxes that draw the wrath of the middle and
working class voters as well as the attention of
lawyers and accountants for the rich who thereafter
avoid paying a good deal of them.
