Re: Today's Wall Street Journal on Mankiw's new textbook
Skousen's WSJ depiction of Mankiw's text is a thoroughly
unreliable caricature.
Mankiw's texts can be criticized on a number of counts
including his top 10 principles of economics which got
a pretty thorough going-over on this list.
But nothing on the WSJ's editorial page should be taken
seriously -- it is best read as a long-running satire of
right-wing beliefs. Skousen for example seems to
consider AS-AD a commie plot, and hails Mankiw as a
return to "classical" economics, which it surely is not.
