Cranks, Capitalists and Rentiers
In the last century political economy was a struggle to find adequate
and fair means of regulating the behaviour capitalists. Today political
economy must now confront problems arising from the behaviour of the rentier
class. Unfortunately, rentiers, through a mixture of conciet and fear
impute their own motivations onto all other players in the economy. They
understand that their pychology of money can cause problems in the
economy, but rather than direct policies at themselves to regulate their own
problematic behaviour, they believe everyone should be subjected to the
same regulation.
