Re: Surplus Wealth; Geopoltical Expansion; the New Frontier
Kudos to T.P.MacDonald for a cogent and lucid exposition of
perhaps the fundamental problem in political economics.
The ultimate solution, if there is one, will necessarily involve
a consensus among the major industrial powers. That consensus
must overcome a formidable array of challenges due to ethnic,
cultural, language, and religious differences. Progress has been
made, but it seems agonizingly slow. The issues will no doubt
command the interest of philosophers and economists for a long
time to come. Yet it is in the political realm where the outcome
will be ultimately be determined.
