The NEO: Golden Age Waiting to Happen?

	THE NEW ECONOMIC ORDER (NEO):

 	o  Soft Landings after spurts of Rapid Growth
	o  Assured Liquidity In the Crunch
	o  Free Trade guided by Smart Multinationals
	o  The United States adapts to big investments and small wages.
	o  Analyses focus on money made by traders and investors.
	o  Digital skimming of a few bucks for the boss is OK
	o  Missing:  A very large fast growing prosperous middle class
	o  More families unable to buy homes and send kids to college.
	o  Institutions switching sides to abandon the middle class

	THE PROMISE:

	o  Mexico, China, India and Russia will grow until they buy
	    back from us what we buy from them.  That will make all
	    the above sacrifice pay off  for a middle class in all places.
	    Institutions will reverse course and again champion a new
	    voting majority.

	THE FEAR

	o  Two cars in every garage in China will turn Earth into a desert
	o  Long before universal middle class comfort will come war between
	    cousins in business like war between just plain cousins (1914).
	o  Without union power there can be no prosperous middle class
	o  With union power there can be no prosperous upper middle class,
	     like tenured PHD's with chairs endowed by investors.

	THE TRUTH

	o  If we do what we are asked to do, by those in highest repute on
	    PKT, (whom each of  us has on a list), most contradictions can yet
	    be solved:  Ecology, equality, and prosperity for all, will be served.
	    Fortunately, although they live scattered from Sweden to New
	    South Wales, they will gather next year in Kentucky -- and Alan
	    Greenspan will be there.
