Where to save resources and Where to spend resources? (fwd)
I am reposting the thread with a modified titled. I wanted to emphasize
real resources rather than financial ones.

I agree but...
Can you explain why those who spend time saving money are infact the biggest
consumers of resources? Whereas people who derive little personal
satisfaction from playing such saving games actually consume far less?
There is an important difference between pursuing money and saving/
accumulating money. The pursuit of money should be seen as just one of many
social means for expanding our real resource base. The saving of money is
a necessary result of the pursuit. It is only to be encouraged
if it results in the growth of our resources and the FAIR consumption of
resources.
Now is the time to consciously invest (create and spend) money in the
development of human resources, in the areas of education, health, and
research, rather than wasting our natural resources by placing our faith
in the BLIND production capital pumped by the savings of the financial
elites.
If the saving of natural resources is desired then give people the financial
security to follow pursuits which involve less consumption. Eg. End the
alienation and marginalization of the student. It is time to recognize
the fact that we are all life long students. Being a student is not
of secondary value to being a worker.
