Re: elr and mosler/censorship
on elr
after warren's post, i finally saw what mason was getting at; it was
then corrected by bill m. mason wondered if "we" were arguing that
only govt can provide for net private sector saving. I was thinking of
closed economy, but as bill has pointed out, once you open up, then if
the domestic private economy is willing to net save in the form of
french francs (or whatever), then that is also a supply of net saving.
i should say that i am also a bit concerned w/impact on unions. i can
see the point of arguing that bridges etc should be done by
unions. the problem is the reality: they will never be done. any
decisions regarding what should be done w/elr workers should be made
socially, including representatives of organized labor. this won't be
easy; solving real world problems usually isn't. can we do better than
we are now? certainly.
on censorship
while i have in the past favored a moderated list, ric's post on the
experience of other lists, plus the work involved, convinced me that
both ric and bill are on the right track. i would only say that 3
posts per day is extreme; only very rarely should anyone ever post
that often. and those that have been posting that often recently have
been the abusers others are concerned with. please, keep it to one per
day (or every other day) unless it is specifically on a seminar
paper. this is a matter of self restraint.
