60 Minutes on the Internet

I have posted a web page with a critique of last
Sunday's 60 Minutes attack on the Internet - or some
may so regard it - you decide.

Probably too long to put directly on PKT; pertinent
to recent debate, not to pkt economics.

It is by my Internet friend, Mark Adkins, and is at:

 Excerpt off the top:

This is MEDIA CRITIQUE -- an irregularly
 appearing commentary on selected misinformation,
propaganda, double-standards and nonfeasance as it
comes to my attention through various media outlets.

 In this issue:

 60 Minutes "does" the Net.

I've seldom seen a better argument for the unfettered, egalitarian
exchange of information than was presented by Leslie Stahl on the
March 2nd edition of CBS' 60 Minutes. That wasn't her intent, of
course, nor the intent of the piece, but an inadvertent result.

Stahl did from the inside what outside critics of the Establishment
media, with their puny slings and arrows, seldom manage to
accomplish: conclusively demonstrated how arrogant, hypocritical,
and yes, OVERPAID the mainstream media's star news journalists
 are.

The segment in question ostensibly dealt with the issue of truth in
media, but it began with the tacit assumption that the Establishment
media is the sole reliable purveyor of truth, and focused its wrath
on the only mass-media format lacking editorial filters: The Internet.
