The Department of Economics invites applications for one tenure-track
opening at the assistant professor level beginning in Fall 1996.  All
candidates should have a strong orientation to research and a
commitment to excellence in undergraduate, liberal arts education.
We seek a strong microeconomist, familiar with the broad traditions
of microeconomic theory and oriented to policy analysis.  We are
particularly interested in the above fields, but other exceptional candidates
are welcome to apply.  We encourage candidates with interdisciplinary
interests.  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Applications should include vita (including a description of the dissertation or
other research endeavors), 3 letters of recommendation, and a sample of
written work.  The closing date for receipt of completed applications is
