Comments of the kind quoted below do illustrate the problem I pointed to in
my earlier message. I believe that Ric's original post, my response and that
of  Gary Mongiovi and Herb Gintis, were all polite and serious expressions
of concern; we each do see a problem.  Mr. Butos evidently disagrees.  His
terms are, however, hastily chosen, rude, intemperate, and calculated to
annoy.  He is not alone in this approach to the list. Any one of us could go
through a week's postings and find numerous messages that are equally
disagreeable.

So far, we have heard from two frequent posters who evidently like things as
they are, and from three or four lurkers who would like a broader and more
temperate discussion. I will not post again on this subject, though I hope
others will be heard from. JG
