I'm no expert on Marshall, but it seems to me that his view that
the motto "nature makes no leaps" shows a confusion of the
economy (which is human-made) with nature (which originally was not).
Also, it seems that nature does make leaps, as with the theory of
punctuated equilibrium. Actually, we don't need that theory:
examining any active volcano will show that "nature" is "leaping."
