Re: Priming the World Pump
Bernie:
Who would you define as appropriate to conduct the central
planning?
A substantial amount of protection, due to NAFTA and GATT, has been
removed. Protection restricts capiatal flow to developing nations. In
essence we, among other nations, were destroying our potential markets.
How may people in other nations purchase from us w/out the resources to
do so. These treaties have only recently been passed. In addition, the
world is in transition due to the end of the Cold War. Could you give
the "Invisible Hand" more time to work? This force has been severely
restricted in "Left Wing" and "Right Wing" command economies. If we
include the "thirties", WWII and the Cold War lasted sixty years.
>From what I understand, when we speak of the "Invisible Hand", we are
referring to the natural processes involved in the Market. There is some
resemblance here to the "Self Evident" truths to which Jefferson and other
Enlightenment scholars made referrance. Who defines what these truths are?
You, and me!
