Two natural rates ....
Brief correction to my posts about the two natural rates
of unemployment: The structure I was calling the Hopf bifurcation
was a less exotic logistic map bifurcation. It's sometimes
difficult to tell the two apart, but in this case I should
have known better. The general interpretation and extraction of
two natural rates is unchanged, however.
A PKT elf has been gracious enough to send me the inflation
data. I now set out in search of the natural rate of inflation.
Before I forget, Jim, Doug, and others mentioned the work
of Ellen Frank plus indefinite works supporting the idea
of a natural inflation rate. I would greatly appreciate it
if you could send me references to the papers on that topic
you feel are more pertinent or better supported. Off-line
would be good.
Thanks to all.
