          ********************************************

This message is directed at folk with interests in time series
methodology and applications who may be in Sydney in July 1996.
It is a re-posting of a message sent last November. "Time
series" here includes (chaotic) dynamical systems.

It is proposed to run a Time Series Workshop in conjunction with
SISC-96 (described below).

                         >>> PLEASE <<<
                             ======
... email me if you are interested in the workshop. Also give an
indication of how confident you are (1) that you may attend and
(2) that you may contribute. However, do note the following.

The Sydney International Statistical Conference will be held at
the Sheraton-Wentworth Hotel in Sydney in the week 8-12 July
1996. Three distinct conferences will run in parallel that week:
   * 13th Australian Statistical Conference;
   * Computer Science and Statistics: 28th Symposium on the
Interface; and
   * IMS Special Topics Meeting on Contemporary Non-parametrics.

The 13th ASC will feature two principal themes, Quality and
Environmental Statistics. Other substantial sessions will take
in other topics, Time Series being one.

Various pre- and post-conference workshops are planned (and these
may not be final): an S workshop; a Centre for Mathematics and
Its Applications (ANU) workshop; a Dynamic Graphics workshop; a
Visualisation workshop; and an Imaging workshop.

There may exist a few possibilities for funding assistance and
for visitorships in various universities in Australia. Please
indicate your interest in these regards so that I can inform my
colleagues.

PLEASE do NOT contact me for details of the main conferences or
the other satellites, I have no information about them!!! Please
email "sydney96@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" for that information.

Rodney Wolff.
