Re: STAR WARS WONT WORK. THE END.

THe only purpose defence expenditure serves in a post keynesian model is to
bolster aggregate demand. I saw the Falcon and the Snowman again the other day
at lunchtime at the uni. and it once again reminded me that the military and
the boys that play with weapons and secrets are wholly untrustworthy. The
pacifists probably would like to know which facts they are wrong on. In my life
time, were they wrong believing in the National Liberation Front in Vietnam? As
the yanks working with that corrupt puppet Thieu tried to overthrow a free
people with chemicals, napalm, and whatever else those in high office (who
were about the same time playing watergate - well watergate came after they had
lost the war and became a bit bored).
They probably would also like to know which theory they were wrong on. But i
suggest we set up another column on the net called war discussions.
Fortunately, with the environment being degraded by capitalism so rapidly now,
we don't really need the defence spending to bolster aggregate demand. there
are plenty of things to fix and plant and give people jobs doing with out all
this other stuff. maybe some public sector child care expansion so that the
children can grow up without the need to play around with toys like missiles
and that sort of stuff.
kind regards
bill
