Re: Occam's Razor
strangely enough, Karl Marx thought that markets were an "excellent
form of governance" . . . for capitalism. Markets hide the societal
nature of capitalist production (especially its exploitative
nature), producing what he termed "the fetishism of commodities"
(vol I) or "the illusions created by competition" (vol. III).
Looking at the system from the inside and befuddled by the
commodity form (i.e., markets) people, including what Marx
called the "vulgar economists," tend to treat capitalist
social relations as natural or as relations among things.
