Dear Ric,
     Graduates from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst do not
and have not played it safe.  They engage in nontraditional research
and many, if not most, write dissertations that are controversial.
In addition it is their passion for economics which motivates their
work in nontraditional areas and theories.  Give them a closer look.
